This continuing educational virtual lecture series will explore emerging trends in the diagnosis and management of patients with cerebrovascular disease across the continuum of care including pediatric stroke, telestroke, stroke transfer and transport, nontraditional stroke populations, post stroke care, neurocritical care, cryptogenic stroke and clinical outcomes in stroke.

Target Audience:
This CME activity is designed to assist Physicians, Nurses, Residents and Healthcare Professionals in becoming more familiar with new medical information related to stroke care.

Overall Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this educational activity the participant should be able to:

1. Describe traditional and emerging trends to the care of ischemic stroke and
hemorrhagic stroke in adult and pediatric patient population;
2. Explain how a comprehensive understanding of neuroanatomy can improve clinical practice;
3. Demonstrate a prioritized approach to caring for cardiac-related stroke patients.

Method of Participation:

This internet enduring presentation is an educational video presentation. In order to receive credit, physicians must complete the entire educational activity and complete a multiple choice test at the end of the video presentation. Participants must also complete the online post-activity course evaluation form to receive credit.


Hackensack Meridian Health MH is accredited by the Medical Society of New Jersey to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Hackensack Meridian Health MH designates this enduring material for a maximum of 7.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in this activity.

Nursing Statement:
NURSES CONTACT HOURS: NJ Board of Nursing (NJAC 13:37-5.3) states: “A registered professional nurse or licensed practical nurse may obtain continuing education hours from the following: (d)3. Successful completion of continuing medical education courses recognized by the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association or the American Podiatric Medical Association: one hour for each 60 minutes of attendance” therefore, CME credits obtained today may be used in place of nursing contact hours.
