Course Title: Pharmacology of Trauma Related Disorders
Stacy Doumas, MD
Stacy Doumas, MD, is the director of Education, Department of Psychiatry at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, New Jersey , part of the Hackensack Meridian Health Family. Dr. Doumas graduated with honors from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Jersey Medical School in 2001. She is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Rutger’s, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and a Clinical Associate Professor at the Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Doumas holds board certifications in the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Psychiatry.
This Educational Activity addresses the educational needs of health care providers who are interested in staying current on the evidenced based psychopharmacological treatment approaches for patients who have experience trauma and related mental illness. The focus will be on pharmacotherapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Number of Credit Hours: Meridian Health designates this enduring material for a maximum of 0.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit.

Overall Learning Objectives:
At the completion of this educational activity the participant should be able to:
1. Identify psychopharmacological treatment strategies for PTSD
2. Recognize psychopharmacological treatment strategies for other common comorbid conditions including depression, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders and insomnia
3. Discuss the use of various classes of medications including SSRI antidepressants, atypical antipsychotics, and other medications for PTSD and trauma related conditions.
Method of Participation:
This internet enduring presentation is an educational video presentation. In order to receive credit, physicians must complete the entire educational activity and complete a multiple choice test at the end of the video presentation. Participants must also complete the online post-activity course evaluation form to receive credit.Accreditation
